Job Description

Manages all Axial Factory activities while supervising daily operations in multiple departments including, maintaining on-time production schedule goals, solving production issues and ensuring quality standards and safety rules are being followed to ensure customer specifications and ship dates are met and on time.

Hire, Coach and Mentor the growth and professional development of shop floor personnel.

Overview of Position

Works closely with production planners, tooling and manufacturing engineers along with production supervisors to improve plant safety, part quality, line productivity and tool performance.

Responsibilities

Under administrative direction, supervise and assist department lead employees, including the planning and scheduling of work priorities.
Developing, implementing and executing production plans, schedules, and strategies to meet daily production goals.
Monitoring production processes to ensure they are operating safely and efficiently, and identifying areas for improvement.
Identify and solve problems that arise during the production process quickly and competently to reduce down time.
Ensure personnel requirements and proper allocation of all resources is continually maintained.
Coordinating and assigning tasks to production staff, and ensuring that all staff members receive appropriate training to perform routine duties effectively.
Conducting regular equipment and machinery inspections to identify potential issues and coordinating with maintenance staff to ensure repairs and servicing are completed in a timely manner.
Ensuring quality control standards that apply to the production processes are being followed and addressing quality-related issues that may arise.
Managing inventory control within a department and coordinating with supply chain staff to ensure that raw materials, and other supplies are available according to the schedule.
Promote a good safety attitude and teamwork.
Maintains clean and orderly work areas and oversees other production areas to ensure cleanliness and orderliness are maintained.
Responsible for properly coordinating Preventive Maintenance program with the Maintenance Department.
Responsible for ensuring all employee monthly safety meetings are performed on time.
Perform other related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Five or more years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
Three years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong technical abilities and knowledge of production processes, and equipment.
Excellent leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate, and inspire teams.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Experience with 5S and LEAN manufacturing.
Knowledge of Osha safety requirements in a manufacturing setting.
Experience with IFS or similar ERP software is a plus.
